RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—ThermoGenesis Corp. has announced that its stockholders have approved the acquisition of regenerative medicine company TotipotentRX via a merger into ThermoGenesis. In conjunction with the acquisition, ThermoGenesis will change its corporate name to Cesca Therapeutics Inc., short for Clinical Excellence in Stem Cell Applications. The expected closing date for the transaction is mid-February, pending customary filings.

“We are very pleased to report our stockholders approved the acquisition and resulting merger of TotipotentRX into ThermoGenesis at a special meeting of the stockholders today, with over 78 percent of the votes cast approving the transaction,” Matthew T. Plavan, CEO of ThermoGenesis, commented in a news release. “This merger creates a premier cell therapy company that we believe will be the only fully integrated regenerative medicine company in the market.”
