Harvard, Evotec ink second collaboration

HAMBURG, Germany—Evotec AG has established a second research collaboration, TargetEEM (Enteroendocrine Mechanisms), with the laboratory of Doug Melton, Xander University Professor in the Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Harvard University, Harvard Stem Cell Institute scientific co-director and Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. TargetEEM is a comprehensive screening initiative by Harvard and Evotec to search for pathways and targets that could address pivotal pathophysiological mechanisms related to insulin resistance and energy handling. This collaboration will focus on the identification of enteroendocrine mechanisms, pathways and signals regulating metabolic processes that possess disease-modifying potential for diabetic patients. No financial details were disclosed, but Harvard and Evotec will collaborate and share any potential commercial rewards.
