Power3 Medical Products acquires Rozetta-Cell Life Sciences
October 2010
SHARING OPTIONS:

HOUSTON—On Sept. 8, Power3 Medical Products Inc., a proteomics company focused on the development of innovative diagnostic tests in the fields of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, signed an agreement to acquire Rozetta-Cell Life Sciences Inc., a biotechnology company specializing in the delivery and imaging of stem cells during therapy, for an undisclosed sum. Power3 plans to merge Rozetta-Cell into Power3, with Power3 remaining as the surviving company in the merger. Pending customary approvals, the transaction is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Ira L. Goldknopf, president and chief scientific officer of Power3, says the acquisition will "significantly strengthen" Power3's IP portfolio "in a major growth market by merging regenerative medicine with the technologies that we are using to identify disease-specific protein biomarkers and develop them into screening and diagnostic tests to address unmet medical needs."
