License agreement to cover ORNL technologies
July 2012
SHARING OPTIONS:
INDIANAPOLIS—Prosolia Inc. and AB SCIEX recently announced a
licensing agreement for technologies developed by Dr. Gary Van Berkel and his
colleagues at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Per the agreement, Prosolia
grains a license to a portfolio of new sample introduction and ionization
methods based on a liquid micro-junction surface sampling probe approach. This
approach allows for direct extraction of solid-phase analytes from a range of
surfaces with a continuous flow of solvent, offering rapid sample analyses.
Financial details were not disclosed.
“We envision several new products arising out of Dr. Van
Berkel’s inventions and are excited to work with him and his group on these
projects,” Justin Wiseman, president and CEO of Prosolia, said in a press
release regarding the agreement.
