LLC Molecular Devices LLC introduces PatchXpress Plus, a current-clamp upgrade kit for its PatchXpress 7000A automated patch clamp system. The PatchXpress plus allows analysis of cardiac and neuronal cell excitability via measurement of action potentials. The kit enables labs to perform automated action potential prolongation assays as well as test the effects of candidate ion channel drugs on action potential shape, duration or burst activity in excitable cells. Candidate drugs’ effects can be tested as well on action potential burst firing in neurons or resting membrane potentials in excitable or non-excitable cells.
