The Direct Detect! system from EMD Millipore, the Life Science division of Merck KGaA, is its latest system for rapid, simplified protein quantitation. The system enables infrared-based measurement of amide bonds in protein chains without requiring amino acid composition, dye-binding properties or redox potential. Thanks to its IR-based detection of biomolecules, the system delivers accurate and reproducible protein quantitation in the presence of reducing agents and detergents, and is capable of measuring protein concentrations from 0.2mg/mL to 5 mg/mL within seconds.
