The release of Illumina Inc.’s new Cancer Analysis Service from the Illumina Genome Network (IGN) offers researchers the accuracy of Illumina’s technology in combination with easily displayed tumor and normal sequencing data. IGN links researchers requiring large-scale whole human genome sequencing services with institutions that provide such services with Illumina platforms powered by TruSeq technology. The IGN has a sample input volume of 5 µg, and its optimized combined calling analysis method recovers 97 percent of known SNVs, even when tumor purity is less than 40 percent.
