BioTek Instruments Inc. has expanded its Synergy Multi-ModeMicroplate Reader family with the introduction of the patent-pending Synergy H4with Hybrid Technology. Synergy H4 combines the sensitivity of filter-basedoptics with the flexibility of monochromator-based optics in one compactinstrument for high-performance fluorescence-based applications. This hybrid ofboth technologies provides for endless flexibility in current and futuremicroplate-based assay choice. Additionally, Synergy H4 is compatible withBioTek's Take3 Multi-Volume Plate for low-volume measurements down to 2 μL.Filter/dichroic-based fluorescence optics provide superior light filtering andpurification with fast wavelength switching and read speeds. This exceptionalperformance is perfect for demanding applications including TR-FRET,fluorescence polarization or AlphaScreen/AlphaLISA. Quadruplemonochromator-based fluorescence optics provide the flexibility to choose anywavelength from the UV to the near infrared for a broad range of applications. The variable bandpass selection system is ideal for spectral scanningapplications. Top and bottom optics enhance assay flexibility even further.Synergy H4 is modular, and the fully equipped configuration may be used forfluorescence intensity/FRET, time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) and TR-FRET,fluorescence polarization, AlphaScreen/AlphaLISA, Luminescence and UV-VisibleAbsorbance.
