Taking aim at Ebola
April 2020
SHARING OPTIONS:

BEDFORDSHIRE, U.K.—Mologic Ltd., along with the Institut Pasteur de Dakar in Senegal, has launched an accelerated program aimed at developing a low-cost, high-performance, rapid diagnostic test for Ebola. Mologic will apply its ultra-sensitive lateral flow technology to lead the development and manufacture of the test, while the Institut Pasteur de Dakar will validate the test in collaboration with the Institut National de Recherche en Biologie (INRB) in Kinshasa. The test will be manufactured in the U.K. and at the Institut Pasteur de Dakar’s diaTropix facility in Senegal. This test builds on work done by BIOASTER, the French Technology Research Institute, which developed six mouse-derived monoclonal antibodies against glycoproteins of the Ebola virus. Mologic and Institut Pasteur de Dakar were validating three of the prototypes before beginning a trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo with INRB in March.
