February 2019
SHARING OPTIONS:

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—In January, life-sciences company Arbor Biotechnologies shared a range of developments, including a multiyear strategic research collaboration with Vertex Pharmaceuticals and the discovery of multiple new type V CRISPR-Cas systems, the latter of which was published in Science. Arbor reported that among the newly discovered systems is Cas12g, now the smallest known RNA-targeting CRISPR enzyme, as well as Cas12h and Cas12i. Cas12g has demonstrated several characteristics that could improve RNA editing, RNA therapeutics and diagnostic detection. In addition, Arbor also expanded its board of directors with the addition of Paul Meister, who is CEO of Liberty Lane Partners and previously held the positions of president of MacAndrews & Forbes Inc., CEO of inVentiv Health (Syneos Health) and chairman of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
