May 2018
SHARING OPTIONS:

HONG KONG—The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has inked a memorandum of understanding with Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) to advance collaborative applied research and technology development in a life-sciences and engineering R&D platform. The agreement combines Fraunhofer’s experience in application-oriented research with KIT, Germany’s leading research university, and PolyU’s focus on multidisciplinary research and translating that research into real-world applications.

Prof. Ping-kong Alexander Wai, vice president of research development at PolyU, said, “This collaboration with two leading European research organizations also adds on to the recent efforts initiated by PolyU in establishing the U.S.-Greater Bay Area biotechnology and translational medicine collaborative platform ... This partnership with Fraunhofer and KIT marks another critical step towards synergizing the strengths of different platforms within the Great Bay Area and throughout the world.”
